KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL FLIGHT OSAN AIR BASE

POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Carpenter, KWB-4607-06
SALARY: Between 15428 – 22078 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51st Civil Engineer Squadron, Vertical Repair Shop, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United Status Air Forces, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Carpentry Work: This work will be building, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures on all real property assets using all types of wood, plastic, fiberglass and steep materials. Plans and lay out work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints and own knowledge of construction or needed repairs. Selects lumber, materials and supplies. Measures and cuts materials to the required lengths and dimensions. Installs rafters, studs, sills, plates, braces, joists, floors, sub-floors, panels, siding, sheathing, roofing, building, paper, insulating materials and doors and window frames. The work processes include nailing, sawing, bolting, gluing, planning and sanding. Fabricates and installs frames or casting for windows, doors, transoms and ventilators; shelves, counters, plywood duct-work, cabinets, bookcases and related features. Fabricates concrete forms, scaffolds, storage pallets, storage bins, tables, work benches, and related items. Masonry Work: This work includes laying brick, face brick, hollow tile, fire brick, terra cotta tile, gypsum block, concrete block, cinder block, glass block, ceramic tile or similar materials in the maintenance, alteration, or construction of partitions, foundations, walls, buildings, fireplaces and furnaces. Painting Work: This work includes painting one type or a variety of surfaces, such as interiors and exterior of buildings and/or stationary and mobile equipment where appearance as well as surface protection are important. Prepares surfaces, mixes paints and applies primer, intermediate and finish coats with brush, roller, or spray gun. Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed both inside and outside under varying weather conditions. Subject to possible injury from falling materials or tools. Possibility of injury in falling from scaffolds, ladders, or work platforms. Exposed to dust, dirt, paint, smoke, odors, and fumes. There are dangers of cuts, falls burns, injuries from hand and power tools, and exposure to infrared and ultraviolet rays. Also subject to noise from power tools and carpentry equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: One year of general experience plus one year of specialized experience
General Experience: Actual work experience as a trainee, helper, or other work related to the trade or craft for which being considered.
Specialized Experience: Experience at the "Junior", or higher level, in the work related to trade or craft for which being considered.
SUBSTITUTION:
1. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from high school in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Successful completion of a formal training course in a recognized trade school, of at least 90 days duration, in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
c. Possession of a valid license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as craftsman in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
2. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general and 1 year of specialized experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from technical junior college in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Possession of license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as an industrial engineer in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Ability to apply to journeyman carpentry skills.
b. Ability to plans and lays out work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints and own knowledge of construction of needed repairs

자격요건:
경력: 1년 이상의 일반경력과 1년 이상의 전문경력이 필요합니다.
일반경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 조수나 보조원으로 일한 일반경력을 말합니다.
전문경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 견습공 또는 숙련공으로 일한 전문경력을 말합니다.
자격대체:
가. 아래 사항들은 요구되는 일반경력 1년을 대체합니다.
ㄱ. 기술고등학교에서 관련 직종의 학과를 졸업한자.
ㄴ. 공인 직업훈련소에서 해당 직종과정을 최소한 90일 이상 수료한 자.
ㄷ. 한국정부에서 발행한 해당직종 기능사 자격증을 소지한 자.
나. 아래 사항들은 요구되는 일반경력 1년과 전문경력 1년을 대체합니다.
ㄱ. 전문대학에서 관련직종의 학과를 전공한자.
ㄴ. 한국정부에서 발행한 해당 직종의 산업기사 자격증을 소지한자.
