KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL FLIGHT OSAN AIR BASE
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER OAB-048-17 OPENING DATE: 23 Aug 17

POSITION TITLE AND GRADE: Secretary (Office Automation), KGS-0318-04
SALARY: Between 14189 - 20251 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 607th Weather Squadron, Office of the Commander, Yongsan.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United States Air Force, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Receives telephone and personal callers and may personally handle routing queries, routing more technical matters to supervisor or to appropriate staff members. Provides information on routine business of the organization to outside callers. Assists supervisor in the preparation and compilation of special studies and reports. Following instructions as to the nature of the subject matters required, obtains reports, documents, files and other background material from a variety of sources. Selects specified information from appropriate documents, consolidates and types draft of data in various categories required. From verbal instructions prepares standardized and routine correspondence such as transmittal letters or endorsements. Establishes and maintains subject matter and regulatory files in connection with work of the office. Uses initiative in establishing or revising files to meet current needs. Filing duties require good knowledge of Air Force filing systems. Performs a variety of other miscellaneous secretarial and typing duties to include correspondence, studies, reports and message. Types from rough drafts with responsibility for selecting appropriate format, making corrections in grammar, punctuation and spelling checking and verifying references used; and for assembling any necessary enclosures to accompany finished correspondence. Uses work processing software to produce a variety of documents. Transmits and receives documents and message electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstations through a central processing unit. Performs other duties as assigned. Other Significant Facts: A qualified typist with knowledge, skill and ability to operate Microsoft office and Adobe Acrobat Programs/PC is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of general experience.
A minimum typing speed of 30 words (English/150 strokes) per minute is required. ROK Word Processing Certificates for English may be substituted for the self-certification of keyboard operation skills.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: General experience includes progressively responsible work which indicates ability to acquire the KSAs needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Successfully completed education of two years above the high school level in a ROKG authorized or recognized university may be substituted for the experience required at grade KGS-04 level.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY:
1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 60 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
2. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 430 and higher the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of 450 and higher may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicant must submit the TOEFL/TOEIC official copies of test score. TOEFL/TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Knowledge of routes, controls and distributes mail and Air Force filing systems procedures.
b. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
c. Ability to operate word processing equipment/PC.
