KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL OFFICE OSAN AIR BASE
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: OAB-033-17 OPENING DATE: 19 Jul 17

POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Automotive Mechanic, KWB-5823-06 (2 positions)
SALARY: Between 15428 – 22078 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51st Logistics Readiness Squadron, Multipurpose Maint, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United Status Air Forces, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Performs the full range of overhaul repair work on chassis group units of one or more types of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, or tactical use such as passenger cars, trucks, forklifts, warehouse tugs, jeeps, multi-wheeled vehicles with automatic or manual transmissions and auxiliary equipment attached. Determines exact nature and extent of repairs required and performs major and minor overhaul and repair on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering and brake systems and related electrical, fuel, hydraulic, wheel and engine assemblies. Makes operational checks and adjustments as required. Uses specialized testing equipment such as compression testers, charging/starting analyzer, multimeter, battery chargers, other diagnostic test equipment, and various tire mount/demount changing machines. Replaces steering linkage components consisting of tie rod ends, idler arms, pitman arms and ball joints. Directs work of junior and helper mechanics as required. Assists the Quality Assurance Inspector in performing visual, physical and functional inspections on all general and special purpose vehicles. Debriefs vehicle operators upon completion of through inspection of vehicle. Performs other related or incidental duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Lifts and carries tools, tires, and other heavy shop equipment weighing up to 150 pounds and puts forth similar efforts in pushing, pulling, turning, and positioning tires, assemblies, tools and equipment. Heavy or awkward items are normally handled with the aid of co-workers. Work is primarily performed inside with occasional outside work in adverse weather conditions. Work is normally dirty, greasy and noisy. Subject to cuts and abrasions when using hand tools in confined areas. Must have aptitude to learn and apply a basic working knowledge of the trade. Must possess a valid government vehicle operator’s permit for safe vehicle operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: One year of general experience plus one year of specialized experience
General Experience: Actual work experience as a trainee, helper, or other work related to the trade or craft for which being considered.
Specialized Experience: Experience at the "Junior", or higher level, in the work related to trade or craft for which being considered.
SUBSTITUTION:
1. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from high school in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Successful completion of a formal training course in a recognized trade school, of at least 90 days duration, in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
c. Possession of a valid license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as craftsman in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
2. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general and 1 year of specialized experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from technical junior college in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Possession of license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as an industrial engineer in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Ability to make operational checks and adjustments.
b. Ability to repair work on chassis group units of one or more types of vehicles powered.

주요 업무: 내연 엔진에 의거 움직이는 하나 혹은 그 이상 종류의 차량, 즉, 용도별로 승객차, 트럭, 지게차, 견인차, 지이프차 자동 트렌스미션과 보조장비를 갖춘 다른 동력 차량과 같은 군용 차량의 차대 그룹에 대한 일체의 분해, 검사 및 수리 작업을 실시합니다. 필요한 수리의 내용과 범위를 결정하고 엔진 동력 트렌스 밋숀, 차대받이 장치, 핸들 및 브레이크 장치와 관련된 전기, 연료, 수압, 바퀴 및 엔진 조립품에 대한 중요하고 간단한 분해검사와 수리작업을 실시합니다. 필요시 작동 점검과 조정을 실시합니다. 압축 시험기, 모터 분해기 및 시험 진열대와 같은 특수 장비를 사용합니다. 필요시 하급자나 보조에게 업무를 지시합니다. 근무 지시에 따라 다른 업무도 수행합니다. 작업 환경: 150 파운드까지 무거운 장비, 연장, 타이어등을 들고, 옮기고, 끌고, 밀고, 장착합니다. 작업은 기본적으로 실내에서 하지만, 기후에따라 때로는 옥외에서 행하기도합니다. 작업장은 보통 먼지, 기름, 소음이 있습니다. 연장 사용시 손을 베거나 다칠수 있습니다. 안전한 차량 운용을 위하여 유효한 정부 차량 운용 허가를 소유하여야 합니다.
자격요건:
경력: 1년 이상의 일반경력과 1년 이상의 전문경력이 필요합니다.
일반경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 조수나 보조원으로 일한 일반경력을 말합니다.
전문경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 견습공 또는 숙련공으로 일한 전문경력을 말합니다.
자격대체:
