KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL OFFICE OSAN AIR BASE
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: OAB-015-17 OPENING DATE: 17 May 17

POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, KWB-5803-07
SALARY: Between 15699 – 22493 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included.)
DUTY LOCATION: 51st Logistics Readiness Sq., Vehicle Maintenance, Osan AB
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United States Air Force, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: This is an anticipated vacancy announcement. Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by the management. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Performs overhaul and repair of special purpose vehicles equipped for both fighting fires and rescuing personnel of crashed aircraft. Requires a thorough knowledge of the disassembly, repair, reassembly, adjustment, trouble shooting, test operation, and interworking systems relationships of a variety of units comprising the heating and cooling systems, electrical system, and fog-foam-water system, main and pump engines, air, and hydraulic systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: Works inside in a well-lighted and heated area, however, continually works on concrete floors and work is dirty, greasy, and noisy. Subject to cuts, bruises, shocks, burns and smashed fingers. Work requires moderate to arduous physical effort. Subject to skin burns from corrosive liquids and possible injury from ruptured lines and valves containing gas under high pressure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: One year of general experience plus one year of specialized experience
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Actual work experience as a trainee, helper, or other work related to the trade or craft for which being considered.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience at the "Junior", or higher level, in the work related to trade or craft for which being considered.
SUBSTITUTION:
1. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from high school in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Successful completion of a formal training course in a recognized trade school, of at least 90 days duration, in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
c. Possession of a valid license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as craftsman in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
2. The following may be substituted for the 1 year of general and 1 year of specialized experience required at any level:
a. Graduation from technical junior college in a field related to the job for which being considered.
b. Possession of license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as an industrial engineer in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
- Ability to perform overhaul and repair of special purpose vehicles equipped
- Knowledge of part of special purpose vehicle.

알 림: 본 직책은 예상되어지는 공석에관한 공고입니다. 신규 채용된 비충당 직원은 1년동안 다른 직위로의 이동은 책임자의 허가시에만 가능합니다. 근무 지역외의 주한미군 직원 채용시에 이사비용이 지급되지 않습니다.
주요 업무: 전투기에 수반되는, 또는 항공기 추락시 소방이나 인명 구조를 위한 특수 목적의 자동차의 분해 조사와 정비를 수행합니다. 특수 장비를 분해, 정비, 재조립, 조정, 문제점 해결, 작동 확인과 난방, 냉방, 전기 시스템, 안개, 주엔진, 수압등 각종 내부 기관의 운용 시스템에 관한 지식이 있어야합니다. 기타 부여된 업무를 수행합니다.
그외 중요한 사항: 조명이 잘되고 보온이 되는 실내에서 근무를 하나, 지저분하고, 기름기있고, 소음이 있는 콘크리트 바닥에서 장시간 근무할 수도 있습니다. 손가락을 베이거나, 멍들거나, 부딪치거나, 데거나 부러지는 상해를 입을수도 있습니다. 근무하기에 알맞는 건강상태를 유지하도록 노력해야 합니다. 부식액으로 인해 피부를 데일수도 있고, 높은 수압에서 컨테이닝 가스 벨브의 파열로 인한 상해를 입을수도 있습니다.
자격요건:
경력: 1년 이상의 일반경력과 1년 이상의 전문경력이 필요합니다.
일반경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 조수나 보조원으로 일한 일반경력을 말합니다.
전문경력: 상기의 직종 또는 그 유사한 분야에서 견습공 또는 숙련공으로 일한 전문경력을 말합니다.
자격대체:
가. 아래 사항들은 요구되는 일반경력 1년을 대체합니다.
ㄱ. 기술고등학교에서 관련 직종의 학과를 졸업한자.
ㄴ. 공인 직업훈련소에서 해당 직종과정을 최소한 90일 이상 수료한 자.
