CIVILIAN PERSONNEL OFFICE OSAN AIR BASE

POSITION TITLE AND GRADE: Office Automation Clerk, KGS-0326-04 (Full Time)
SALARY: Between13713-19568 Won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51 FSS/Bowling Center, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United States Air Force, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Provides a variety of clerical duties in support of Bowling Center office administration with responsibility for operating a word processor, micro-computer, or computer terminal, using a standard typewriter style keyboard, to produce work accurately and efficiently. Skill in operating related equipment such as printers and modems is required. Edits and reformats electronic drafts of lengthy reports prepared by staff members who are not trained in word processing. Applies a good understanding of the software to identify and correct extraneous, erroneous, or missing functions as symbolized or illustrated by codes which can be revealed on screen. Uses other advanced functions to generate tables of contents and lists of exhibits to perform extensive editing functions resulting from substantial revisions of drafts. Uses word processing software to produce a variety of documents. Types a variety of documents from handwritten and rough drafts with responsibility for selecting appropriated format, arrangement and spacing of material. Refers to regulations, manuals and nontechnical dictionaries. Answers telephonic or personal queries and provides information concerning administrative procedures or other information requiring a working knowledge of the Bowling Center. Makes reservations for unit and private functions as well as Birthday and other parties. Accurately reconciles and posts daily activity revenue reports. Maintains filing system in accordance with appropriate Air Force Instructions. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: One year of general experience
Requires qualified typing or office automation skill. A minimum typing speed of 30 words (150 strokes) per minute is required
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible work which indicates ability to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Successfully completed education of two years above the high school level in a ROKG authorized or recognized college, university may be substituted for the experience required at grade KGS-4.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: 1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 60 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
2. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 430 or higher the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of 450 or higher may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicant must submit the TOEFL/TOEIC official copies of test score. TOEFL and TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:

Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents.

Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignment to perform the routine, procedural work of the office

Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed

Ability communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
