POSITION TITLE AND GRADE: Head Waiter/Waitress, KWB-7420-05
SALARY: Between14128-20175 Won per hour (Total hourly compensation when quarterly bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51 FSS/Sustainment Services Flight, Officers’ Club, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current USAFK employees assigned within 51st Officers’’ Club, Osan AB.
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management.
MAJOR DUTIES: Directs and supervises waiters, waitress and food workers (dining room) engaged in serving meals and beverages, and cleaning dining rooms and equipment. Based on daily schedule for special functions, events and general occasions, plans and organizes subordinates into the most productive work unit by establishing work priorities and issuing special instructions for non-routine work. Supervises subordinates for adherence to established work performance and inspects equipment for clean and sanitary requirements. Seeks improvements in work flow and employee attitudes. Supports the management, operations, and decisions. Assists with daily/weekly meetings. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, work operations, etc. as appropriate to other supervisors. Supports and explains management programs to subordinates. Plans, establishes and schedules leave; sets performance standards; controls the appearance of the staff as regards grooming, hygiene, cleanliness of uniforms and shoes; selects the most suitable applicants for vacancies, determines performance rating and training needs; and prepares and recommends disciplinary actions. Advises and counsels workers on how to improve their performance, and explains new work techniques. Encourage and coach staff to develop teamwork and working practices to deliver excellent standards. Assist in the improvement of the retention of staff. React to all customer requests positively and deal with them appropriately. Ensure the correct appearance of all the Restaurant areas. Assists of investigating grievances and complaints; resolve them informally, notifying supervisors of those of sufficient importance or seriousness. Ensure all staff understands the dishes on the menu and specials prior to opening. Allocate compatible teams to ensure high standards of work and staff development. Maintain staff efficiency and morale in the restaurant at the highest level. Check all dining areas prior to service. Assist restaurant service to ensure a smooth and professional operation of the restaurant. Maintain good customer relationships at all times. Maintain strict control of the bills. Comply with all policies and standards relating to the operations of the facility with special reference to Health and Safety. Comply with all security measures to ensure the protection of guests and government property. Ensure that all equipment is functional and used according to company manufacture’s guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) year of specialized experience
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible experience in the line of work for which being considered.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 1 year experience comparable to the next lower level in the specialty for which being considered.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: 1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 50 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
2. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 250 or higher the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of 350 or higher may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicant must submit the TOEFL/TOEIC official copies of test score. TOEFL and TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
a. Knowledge of operating policies and procedures for the overall dining room operations.
b. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures in order to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
c. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
