KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL FLIGHT OSAN AIR BASE
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: OAB-NAF-044-25
OPENING DATE: 10 Sep 25

POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Materials Handler, KWB-6907-04 (Full-Time)
SALARY: Between 17047 – 24331 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51st Force Support Squadron, Resource Management Flight, NAF Central Storeroom, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current KN employees assigned with United States Air Force, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: 1. USFK NAF employees newly hired on or after 1 Jul 2004 will be required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position. However, they may be allowed to move to other NAF positions within their employing command/activity. 2. Relocation allowance is not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Selects for shipment or issue, designated stock by proceeding to area, finding a stock and verifying information shown on shipping document against that on stock lags or bin tags, determines which stack or bin items are to be
removed, removes stock, assuring that proper quantity and nomenclature of selected stock agree with information contained on
document. Moves items selected to designated location, which includes deliveries to locations other than the area assigned to. Receives supplies and equipment by unloading conveyances, moves items by handcart, conveyor, or similar conveyance, checks items against proper document, making proper notation on same, and reporting discrepancies and damage to supervisor, places clearly identified stock in appropriate temporary or permanent storage locations according to specific oral or written instructions and established methods. May sign for items received. Warehouses palletized bulk stock according to specific locations, re-stacking and re-warehousing items and straightening stacks as directed, sorting out bad containers and re-stacking or taking to bin area. Periodically checks bays or bins for mixed stock or 8incorrecxt locations, corrects or notifies supervisors of problem. Inventory Performs inventory and investigates discrepancies. Performs stock status investigations by checking requisitions, activity register, stock number changes, etc. Physically checks stock in storage when required to accomplish the investigation. Performs other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed outside and inside the warehouse, in all weather, in open storage areas and on receiving or sipping docks. The areas may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot and subject to dust, noise, and fumes. Assignments require a substantial amount of the work cycle to be spent in entering, leaving and working in freezer and/or chill compartments or rooms. Exposed to injury from falling block, from handling materials and from mechanical equipment. Works on concrete floors. Lifts moderately heavy items. Assistance is required from other warehouse workers, laborers, and equipment operators when moving bulky items.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: One year of general experience plus one year of specialized experience. Must possess a ROKG Fork Lift Operator’s license and successfully pass a USFK performance test for the type of equipment to be operated.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Actual work experience as a trainee, helper, or other work related to the trade or craft for which being considered.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience at the "Junior", or higher level, in the work related to trade or craft for which being considered.
SUBSTITUTION:
1. Graduation from high school in a field related to the job for which being considered, successful completion of a formal training course (at least 90 days duration) in a recognized trade school in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered, or possession of a valid license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as craftsman in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered may be substituted for 1 year of general experience.
2. Graduation from technical junior college in a field related to the job for which being considered or possession of license or certificate of competency issued by the ROKG attesting to proficiency as an industrial engineer in the trade or craft of the job for which being considered may be substituted for 1 year of general and 1 year of specialized experience required.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 40 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Knowledge of driver’s rules and regulation.
b. Ability to understand for specific oral or written instruction in English.
c. Skill in operating electric, diesel or gasoline powered forklifts.
d. Ability to work inside and outside under all weather conditions.
